Back to the Drawing Board
I’ve been working on the second stage of the design and extension of a beautiful Edwardian house recently and decided to go back to the drawing board and do some loose hand sketches. Back in the day in the College of Marketing and Design we did everything on the drawing board, learning one and two point perspective drawing (decades ago now-imagine!). I recently read Nicky Haslam’s ‘’A Designer’s Life’ and loved his quirky hand drawn sketches and got inspired to do some sketches by hand rather than on the computer!
The combination of the loose hand drawn sketches are kind of fun, especially the proposal board for the children’s bedroom-much more dynamic and interesting than computer generated images.
When the sketches are presented with the other element of the room it really pulls all the ideas together-I think!
